Do people usually put a pillowcase on a goose down pillow?
I am actually buying a 12″x16′ White alternative goose down pillow to use as a decorative pillow. Do people usually put pillowcases on them or leave them as they are?
I would prefer to leave it as it is because it will only be used as a decorative pillow. I didnt recieve it yet so I dont know the appearance of a goose down or altenative pillow
I will NOT be sleeping on these pillows, they will just be used for decoration.
The key word here is “alternative” so, in fact, there are no feathers or down to escape from the pillow. Most alternative down pillows have a tight original ticking cover which is adequate to prevent loss of the polyester alternative fill material. If it is purely decorative and actually has a design then you wouldn’t want to cover it but if a head or face will ever touch it then, yes, cover it or you lose your investment to becoming dingy, unattractive, and stale odored. If the original cover or ticking is white then just time and dust will yellow it without an additional cover or case. Since you haven’t received it yet maybe the cover is already removable and washable. Hope so!
